PLANETFRIENDLY
We combine our eco-friendly insect protein with sustainable plant-based ingredients, packed in 100% recyclable packaging, for a happier planet.
We share our planet with 500 million companion cats and dogs, who consume an Earth-shattering 20% of the world’s meat and fish! Traditional pet food has taken its toll on our planet. Livestock farming produces 18% of greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions worldwide, soaks up billions of litres of water and takes over nearly 30% of the Earth’s surface.
Cattle also produce an immense amount of methane, another greenhouse gas, with the average cow expelling around 200 litres of methane per day. In contrast, producing 1kg of insect protein from a popular edible insect requires 92% less space, 99% less water, and creates 99% less carbon than making the same amount of beef protein.
Percuro contains oats that are a valuable and sustainable source of protein
Percuro’s insect pet food also contains oats that are a valuable and sustainable source of protein. Oats are scrummy, sustainable and gentle on your pet’s tummy. They are high in essential B vitamins and minerals including manganese and phosphorus. Pound for pound, oat protein and carbohydrate uses far less water to produce than meat protein. We use naked oats in our formula, which is even gentler to digest.
Check out these staggering stats:
Comparison of water consumption per gram of protein produced
Protein Type | Water consumption per gram of protein |
---|---|
1 pound of beef = 90-100 grams protein | Costs 20-80 gallons* |
1 pound of oats = 75 grams of protein | Costs 3.8 gallons* |
Our recyclable packaging
We package all this sustainable goodness in 100% recycle packaging. We use mono-material PE plastic, which is widely recycled, unlike multi-layer or foil-lined alternatives of most dog food bags which cannot be separated and recycled.
Our unique 2KG pack comes in a post-friendly sturdy box. This avoids the need for further outer packaging to send it to your doorstep. These outer boxes are made from fully FSC-certified and completely recyclable cardboard, which are sourced from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits to their local communities.

Our 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel had a really delicate stomach as a puppy, and we struggled to find something to suit him. Percuro Earth was a really wonderful discovery and totally suits his digestive system. He has been on this for a few years and our vets always compliment us on his shiny coat and good condition. We are often asked what we feed him and told to keep up the good work. The dry kibble is ideal for his typical spaniel behaviour of demanding his food in the morning and eventually eating it midday or even later. I am happy to leave the food out because it doesn’t attract insects and stays fresh all day if needed. The product meets our requirements for a happy dog and environmental credentials. Perfect!
This is Stella! She came 2nd in the 2021 Cocker championship at just 2 years and 5 months! I’ve always struggled to feed her, especially kibble! She is now on Percuro, and she loves it, she will eat with no raw or anything!! It’s made it much easier feeding her! She looks amazing!!!!
Mae is a little cocker who suffers with allergies, environment and food, and now acid reflux. Mae has always been raw fed, and I’ve looked at lots of kibbles in the past, but everything has chicken in it. A friend (Nat) was trying Percuro and spoke very highly of it. With it being an insect protein, I thought it was worth the try, thinking of just adding it to her raw meal. Wow, what a difference it has made to Mae. She now has Percuro as her main full diet, split over 3 small meals a day. We have no acid reflux, no food allergies and her environment allergies last summer seemed so much more controlled. This year we have started Canix, with hope to enter races next winter when I’m fitter 🤞🏻and we have also started some agility training. Thank you Percuro what a difference it has made.
My dog, very minor celeb @the_foxy_margot is truly flourishing on your food. It's actually amazing. No hyperbole. Once a crusty, allergy-infested terrier, she is literally a different dog. Bursting with energy and her coat in particular, is in better condition than ever. Small breeds in particular can be really picky, but she literally wolfs it up!
We have been using Percuro for over two years. We were struggling with Sully's poo and couldn't find a food that made a difference, until we found Percuro. Sully's poo has not been a problem since and we wouldn't change to anything else.
After more than a year of bad gastrointestinal issues, even on hypoallergenic food, Bram's been doing much better eating Percuro's insect-based kibble. He loves the Snappies and kibble! We were at the point of multiple vet visits (including emergency) a month and numerous tests never showing any cause, and just had to keep trying different foods on the assumption that it was dietary issue. One vet happened to have their own dog that eats an insect-based diet and recommend we give it a try. We are so impressed with (and grateful for!) the change in him and complete lack of flare-ups since he started eating it.
'I gave the Puppy food sample to a client of mine to try with his Rough Collie Puppy, 14 weeks old, who had a terrible digestive system, frequent runs after normal meat puppy food and was at a loss-no weight gain-poor little thing was in a real state. Percuro has corrected his tummy and digestive system and he’s gaining weight and doing so well on the food!' -Melanie, owner of Fit and Fertile Ltd
Puppies are all doing really well, they have taken to the food from day one and clear the bowl every time it has been the easiest food to give them not one of them has been fussy. Every time I pick up my phone to take a photo, it has all gone and the bowl is clean!
Ivy's been on Percuro for a month or so now. Ivy is a puzzle-she loses weight/muscle very easily during the winter if she's on the wrong food. I'm very pleased with Percuro, she's put on weight and looks pretty good now. -Suzi Stephens
I've been concerned about my dog kibble for awhile now so having heard good reports about Percuro insect based feed from several dog people I trust, I gave it a try. Really pleased with it so far. Plenty of energy all round-too much in some for mid summer! -and good firm poops! Julie Collins is fantastic for support too. She answers my many questions almost before I press send! I've been half raw/half kibble for a long while now but with the logistics of raw in the heat for a large pack of dogs, I'll be sticking to just kibble for now. -Nicki Hunter, Pursley Gundogs
I have always used a 50/50 mixer with my raw, due to trialing and travelling with my dogs. It wasn't until the freezers went down in my house that I realized a novel protein complimented my raw feeding better than anticipated due to it's high protein. It also includes all the supplements I use in my raw feeding! My dogs look well, in fact a little too well. -Natalie Cannon, Ranked 2nd in The Spaniel Championships 2019, Respected B Panel Kennel Club Judge
This 10 Kg dog food bag seems to be expensive. But I tend to believe that the fact that it has no artificial substances and the fact that it is hypoallergic can justify the price. The food for puppies weighs 10 kg and contains a large amount of hypoallergenic protein, clean of insects and free oats. It has no dyes or preservatives.
A healthy alternative protein coming from insect protein rather than animal. It is a good price, good for the planet and overall a decent dog food with a good composition. Happy we gave this a go!
What a difference this has made! My little Griffon started to scratch and over time it got worse. We tried various things, but with no luck. Then I found Percuro. Lulu has been on this now for 3 months and the difference in her has been unbelievable.
We started feeding the boys @percuro.earth a few months ago.Since then Herbie has not skipped one meal and actually looks excited when he sees his bowl. The enthusiasm Dave shows when he hears me opening the food is off the charts. All in all, its a thumbs up from us.
One of my collies has a pretty sensitive digestive system so we have to be careful what we feed him, but this food didn't upset him in any way which is great. The food seems to be made from top quality ingredients and comes in a bag which is resealable to keep the food fresh.
